And as soon as I said “Watch this space?!”, CIMA’s latest pass rates covering the periods between May 2018 and April 2019 have been made available on its website. At least now, instead of being fashionably late, I am now promptly on time (of sorts).
Anyway, onto our little update…
Pass rates for all case study levels move marginally from the last sitting. Pass rates for the Gateway level rise ever so slightly but continue to remain low, which highlights that Gateway students may be finding it hard to transition into case study preparation.
Operational level fall from 60% to 57%.
Management level had the opposite effect, rising from 57% to 61%.
Strategic level rallies around 60% since August 2016, this time settling at 58%.
The OT exam pass rates are calculated on total exams passed over total exams taken for the periods stated below. Highlighted in blue are the subjects/courses that have less than 50% pass rate. P1 still remains the only “dreaded” subject based according to the results at 48%.
It is important to note that the Certificate level percentages are based on the new Cert BA 2017 syllabus and all in all, the results at those levels are satisfactory.
Don’t be deterred or disheartened by the low pass rates for some of the courses/ subjects/ levels. The good news is that like a good managed project (here’s an E2 reference for you, students!), you will just need to ensure you allocate the costs, time, resources, patience you need to get through the levels effectively.
