CIMA has once again released its latest pass rates covering the period leading up to the end of September 2018.
Gateway level pass rates continue to be below 50% which probably highlights that Gateway students may be finding it hard to transition into case study preparation. The rate has remained the same for the last 3 sittings and this is encouraging.
Operational level are just under 50% but has stayed consistent.
Management level are in the 70’s and this is a good sign.
Strategic level continues on with its average of 60%-ish since last year, except this time dipping just under and settling at 59%.
The OT exam pass rates are calculated on total exams passed over total exams taken for the periods stated below. Highlighted in blue are the subjects/courses that have less than 50% pass rate. P1 now remains the only “dreaded” subject based according to the results at 48%.
It is important to note that the Certificate level percentages are based on the new Cert BA 2017 syllabus and all in all, the results at those levels are satisfactory.
Don’t be deterred or disheartened by the low pass rates for some of the courses/ subjects/ levels. The good news is that like a good managed project (here’s an E2 reference for you, students!), you will just need to ensure you allocate the costs, time, resources, patience you need to get through the levels effectively.
